Day One:
Arriving in London, on the plane. These photos were taken in order left then right about 4 minutes apart, at sunrise. I'm still so confused how the plane can change the tint with a button. You can assume I also was mad I didn't get to finish watching my sunset:(
If I could use 3 words to describe my first week it would probably be: Busy, Loud, and Fast? I would say that more confidently, but we walked past some very smelly spots. So smelly might be a close runner up. And it was really beautiful, but smelly is more fun.
All jokes aside this week was really fun. We began on the 18th of July, arriving at the London International Airport. We took a fun coach to our hotel with our wonderful guide, Margeret. She went over some of the streets we were passing and I sat in the back of the bus, with all of the cool kids (everyone on the multimedia trip). I couldn't see very well but I would quickly see everything again and again during the week. We arrived at the airport tired, very hungry, and jet lagged. I felt like I would sleep great, AC or not. In the evening we had a quick CCSA meeting and a class meeting that followed. I was beginning to get very excited, but couldn't show my emotion due to the jet lag. So I probably looked very annoyed, haha.
After eating and getting ready for bed, we were asleep in lightning speed.
Day Two:
For our second day in London, being jet lagged was a bit of an obstacle.

Most of us slept okay, but we had to get up and out at about 9 AM. We traveled to our first attractions of the trip those being: Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Downing Street, and Westminster Abbey. We tried the tube for the first time on our way, and took so many photos. This day was also London's hottest day in history, reaching over 100 degrees farenheight. I wasn't expecting that when packing. It was almost too hot to remember it.
Later that night, a few students and I traveled back to Westminster and visited the waterside of central london that night as well as a few small parks! I also tried my first Fish and Chips this day! Worth the hype.
Day Three:
On day three of our week we started at the British muesum and worked our way to the Museum of London. We got to eat some really good pizza, and didn't realize that as we walked up to it, we were right next to St. Pauls Cathedral! It was so breathtaking. After that we headed to the Museum of London that had some very nice historical pieces and examples. This is where we learned about the Great Fire of London that burned down most of the town. Coincidentally, the hottest day in London History had caused some fires as well while we were here.
After we all split off for the night, some others and I travlled to Kings Cross Ststaion and enjoyed some live music and Ice Cream! The Ice cream store was called "Creams" and was really refreshing. This place also had some really cool typography and nightlife.
Day Four:
Thursday we had a work day. We struggled for a bit to find a location to have class and gather but we ended up at a Starbucks that Paige and I found while getting stamps at a near by post office. They have a neat upstairs area where others study! It is so interesting seeing how the young life here act in restaurants/coffee shops. In the U.S.A. its more casual and study space like, but here they really focus on social brunches or eating and meeting. No laptops and work usually.
After class we all traveled to a market named Camden. It was so cool! I got a fun thrifted skirt and met some nice local people. I also got a swaggy "Vertigo" movie poster and Paige, Nick, and I all got a sweet photobooth collage.
Day Five:
This was a very fun day for me! I love portraits and paintings, so when we visited The National Gallery I was estatic. We spent most of the day around here and ate as a group at one of the 5,000 Pret Mongers next door. After that we headed back to the starbucks again to work on assignments. Some others and I ended up at the neighbooring "Crepes Coffee and Chai" restuarant from our hotel for a dinner. I had my first crepe and an amazing greek influenced omelette.
To round out the night we celebrated Kyndall's birthday at a really awesome place that had an arcade and bar combination. They had themed drinks to compliment the games. I enjoyed a "Kong Kolada"!
Day Six:
Stonehenge! Stonehenge! Stonehenge! How cool is it that I have now seen one of the wonders of the world? We travelled to Salisbury as a group this day, and had a very tight schedule. We rode the bus and had about 45 minutes to take the shuttle from the gift shop area to the site and come back. Although I wish we had more time to really soak it in, I am so grateful for the time I did get. And I got a pretty shirt and some post cards to go with it. I have so. many. postcards.
We then as the whole CCSA group travelled to the Salisbury Cathedral. This was so neat to see. Once again the time was short, but definitly worth it. I also got to see an original handwritten copy of the Magna Carta! I love history. I can't help but to be so dweeby, I love it.
This night we all hung out and travelled as a group downtown and to some fun new places, and it was so riviting to see London's saturday night life.
