recap w/ love

So before I even begin my recap of the week, I wanted to mention that I have never once left the country. I've barely been outside the states that surround Kentucky. One thing I have started to do, because I have started to travel a lot recently, is buy a shot glass with that location on it that I travelled to. So, the first day when my roommate and I could not sleep, we went on a walk at 5 am to search for trinkets. Of course, we did not realize that London really does not open up until around 8 or 9 am, which was weird to us because America is up as soon as the sun is. However, we eventually found a small shop that was open. Everyone then woke up around 9 and we started our exploring. First, was Buckingham Palace where we stood in the sun on the hottest day ever recorded in London, which is kind of cool to say we were here for. We stayed for the changing of the guard where we laughed and took funny videos. Later was Westminster Abbey which was really beautiful but we couldn't go inside. Our favorite part probably were the sprinklers watering the grass because we could run through them to try to cool off. We got a quick sushi dinner and headed off to a novelty bar that had a ball pit inside called Ballie Balerson. We had a blast running around throwing plastic balls at each other.

The next day we made our way to the British Museum. This was really awesome because we got to see really famous art and artifacts like the Rosetta Stone and Cleopatra's mummified body. You can tell when there is something famous around because there will be a crowd of loud people surrounding it with their phones. We got pizza for lunch at Franco Manca afterward (like an American would in a foreign country lol) and I think we scared the servers a little with our goofiness. After, we made our way to the London Museum where we continued to laugh and have fun with the interactiveness. We did not stay super long because they closed at 5 so we decided to go and search for an Indian restaurant. I had never had Indian until then and I am glad the first time was here because it was delicious. All in all, it was a great second day and our group had bonded a lot by this point.

The next day was mostly a work day but we wanted to make the most of our night and try to catch a ride on the London Eye. When we got there, it was sadly sold out so we decided to catch a boat ride to Tower Bridge. I was cool with this because I really wanted to do it. We passed a lot of big monuments as the crew told us fun facts about all the buildings and bridges. Once we got off we walked across Tower Bridge for dinner and ended up stumbling upon some free live music. We spent our night listening to music and eating our dinner which was pretty cool. Anyway, I really miss American Diet Coke, but thats it.
