Day 1: July 18th, 2022

On day one my class arrived around 10:45 in the morning and had been on a plane for 8 hours. My body was so jet lagged that I was running on fumes because it was five to four in the morning to my body. I remember not eating much this day because we were so busy trying to get everything in order, but that evening we ended up at a pub, which was super fun. :)

Day 2: July 19th, 2022

With the night before sleep this day, I felt great. We went to see the Guards change at Buckingham Palace this day, but it was also the hottest day London had ever seen. The ceremony was cut in half, but no one had told us that so we were sitting in the heat for 45 minutes or more. Part of the day did get cut because of the heat, but lunch was good. Kara, Natalie, Ethan, and I ate at Pizza Express. Later that evening, when it got cooler, Anna, Nick, and I went back to where we were earlier and saw Big Ben and the London Eye.

Day 3: July 20th, 2022

On the third day, we went to the British Museum in the morning. There was so much to see here and a lot of art that I didn't expect to be there. I spent most of my time looking at the art for inspiration. I could find a couple that sparked my interest. The Asian art exhibit was a favorite. It had so many colors and detailed works. The area that had the Egyptian tombs and artwork was also Excellent. I got to see the Rosetta stone, something that I thought I would never see in my life. And just down the hallway from that was the Greek art, With part of the Parthenon. That afternoon we went to the Museum of London. I wasn't especially interested in this museum until I got to the last exhibit. This exhibit had some history of punk and graffiti art, which was fascinating. That evening, my group went to King’s Cross St. Pancras to see Platform 9 ¾, but it was closed when we arrived. So we ended up walking around. Live music was playing, and we found a delicious ice cream place.

Day 4: July 21st, 2022

On Thursday, I had class in the morning, so I worked on stuff I needed to get done and caught up on images to post for my other class. Anna and I did go to a post office before class started so I could get some stamps for my postcards. We discovered a Starbucks that would fit our class better than the local coffee shop underneath the hotel. That was a great find!! After that, a small group of us ended up going to Camden. Camden was one of the best places I have been in a while. There was so much to look at and many shops to check out. My project for the other class has me look into punk rock culture, and Camden is filled with it. I honestly plan to go back soon.

Day 5: July 22nd, 2022

On this day we went to The National Gallery, London. There was so much to see here that I felt like I didn’t have enough time to see it all. As magnificent as the people portraits were at this museum, what caught my eye were the ones that were objects or other creatures. One of my favorite paintings was these two crabs on a bright teal background. It is called “Two Carbs” by Vincent van Gogh. There was a lot of his work, but nothing beat the crabs. Then later that night we went out to a couple of bars to celebrate Kyndall's birthday. The best part of that night was the arcade bar. It had all sorts of video games and their drinks were amazing. Will do it again.

Day 6: July 23nd, 2022

Honorable mention: a couple of us went to Stonehengewhich was fabulous. We didn't have enough time to take what we saw, but it was still a great experience.
