Weekly Roundup - Week 3

Day 1: August 1st, 2022

On August 1st, my friend group and I headed to Edinburgh, Scotland. We had an early train that morning that left around 7:00 A.M. The train ride was about four hours, so we arrived in Edinburgh around 11:00 A.M. For the first couple of hours, we explored the area of central Edinburgh. Our Airbnb wasn't ready, so we had time to kill. After our little adventure around Edinburgh, we settled in our Airbnb. I ended up taking a short nap until around dinner time. What we had for dinner was a pub/fish food place near the coast. It was one of the most delicious places we had been. After we ate, we finally got rain after being here for two weeks.

Day 2: August 2nd, 2022

On the first official day in Edinburgh, we started with a chocolate tour. The chocolate tour gave some history about where they get their chocolate and let us have taste tests. It was about 25 U.S. dollars which was a steal for what they gave us. After that, we walked to the Grass Market to explore the area and take pictures of the castle. A lot of this day was exploring. Another place we ended up going to was the beach coast. It was very windy and cold when we got there, and nick wanted to walk around in the sand for a bit, so Anna and I stayed back with the stuff. It was so windy that our stuff flew off the ledge we were sitting on. After all that, we headed back to the Airbnb to settle down and figured out what we wanted to do next. We ended up going to the small village built next to a river. It was one of the prettiest places I have ever seen.

Day 3: August 3rd, 2022

This was our last day in Edinburgh. Our train didn't leave until 4:00, and we had to be out of our Airbnb by 11, so we had time to kill. Nick had the idea of exploring the malls we saw while walking to our Airbnb on the first day. At the mall we went to there was a Lego store, and we spent an hour to two hours in the Lego store. It was one of the coolest Lego stores I have ever been in. They had all sorts of different builds that I have never seen before and had a ton of interactive sets that you would think they wouldn't want to have because of small children. Nevertheless, it was awesome. After that, we went to the Starbucks next door for a couple of hours to work on homework until it was time for a train. But when we got to the train station our train had been canceled. It turns out that some of the lines to London had some faulty wiring and every train going there that day was canceled. So we ended up having to stay in the Airbnb that the other group stayed in that night. The rest is a blur but it was fun.

Day 4: August 4th, 2022

On the new last day in Edinburgh, we woke up early in the morning to catch the train. The train left at 5:00 in the morning, and we got there about 4:00. Nothing was open, and very few people were there. I don't remember much from this train ride other than we all slept and ate breakfast. Once we got back to Bankside, I took a nap until class at 4:00. Nothing much got done this day besides schoolwork.

Day 5: August 5th, 2022

This day was primarily a work day. The only thing that happened is that, during our lunch break, Madison, Abbey, and I went out to Portobello to take pictures for their projects. Other than that, not much happened besides the school grind. We did go get dinner in the South Bank area.

Day 6: August 6th, 2022

This day was also primarily a work day. We did go to a traditional British tea this day, which was pretty good, but I probably wouldn't do it again. Other than that, this was also just a work day.

Day 7: August 7th, 2022

On our last day in London, we were allowed to do whatever we pleased. SO Nick, Anna, Shel, and I decided that we were gonna go to Portobello market by ourselves and hang out there for the whole day. We spent the majority of the time there and ended up going back to Bankside around 3:00. We took time off before we went to London Bridge. It was about sunset by the time we got there. It was a gorgeous view. We stayed there on the bridge for a couple of hours and hung out and talked about the trip, then went to a boba place. It was the best end to the best trip I have ever taken.
