Kyndall's Week One Type Walk

kyndallwaller582

This was a postcard that was found in the gift shop of the Museum of London. I loved the typography because it heavily reminded me of the typical tourism typography that is found in gift shops all over the world.

This image was taken on our walk to the British Museum. I really enjoyed the texture of the lettering and how it mimics the look of a tree stump and the color of the background paired with the stark black of the letter.

This Burger King sign was at the bus stop that we got off at after our night at Ballie Ballerson. I loved how they incorporated the text as the grill lines. I thought that the use of color and overall minimalistic design was very successful at grabbing an audience's attention.

This was a set of posters that were in the Museum of London near the old letterpress machine. I love the look of letterpress art pieces and really enjoy the standard fonts that are incorporated in the posters and newspapers.

This is a beautiful hotel sign that I spotted on the walk to see Buckingham Palace. I felt that the sign really encapsulated a vast majority of the signs that you see while walking the streets of London that have an older more historic feel.

This type was found on our table at Munchkin's. A fish and chips restaurant that the group decided to try after spending our morning at the British Museum and the Museum of London. I loved the collage of different types and how it was used to create a texture

on the table.
